A Hobby over the garden tonight chasing ‘our’ Swifts. Young were heard in the roof for the first time last night.

Poppies

A shocking picture taken using a mobile phone from a moving train of the magnificent Poppy display just outside of Foxton.

Fowlmere

Another hot one. But not too hot at Fowlmere. Did see a Hobby chasing a Swift for a few minutes. It gave up and went back to collecting Dragonflies.

Summer

A scorching day. Checked Fowlmere. Not a lot going on. A Cinnabar Moth was in the garden.

Bridled Tern

A dash up to Seahouses in Northumberland to get the 6:00am ferry across to the Farne Islands to catch a Bridled Tern that roosted overnight on Inner Farne. Got it, along with the usual Puffins, Guillemots (including Bridled), and so on.
Some nearby apparent Roseate Terns were too distant for me to count.
