Water levels the lowest since we’ve lived here despite some recent rain. Looks great for waders; shame we didn’t see any (!) though a Green Sandpiper was heard calling overhead just as we were leaving. Highlight was a Barn Owl seen heading towards the nest-box where there are apparently recently fledged chicks.
Two Swifts also, but none at home tonight and none heard this morning. Think they must all have departed yesterday; always sad to see them go.
